I have wandered the web and found a few Firearms training facilities in the colorado area. One has a web sight so confusing that I have no idea what they offer and the other has no classes scheduled in Colorado ever apparently.

Does anyone of some group or person who offers a good tactical or advanced pirtol classes here in Colorado? I dont need a CCW class or a basic hadgun class. I would like to take classes on advanced training, threat assessment, etc as I can always learn something new.

I would also be interested in advanced rifle, tactical or not as well.
Thanks.

I don't know if you have looked at these folks or not. I haven't taken any of the courses offered by them, but I know about them becuase I have shot some at the Front Range IDPA shoots.

Hope this helps.

ummmmm

Perhaps I missed something George, but I see no link or information as to whom you are talking about.

We (Tactical Response) will be in Colorado in October for a Fighting Pistol class. There are a few spaces left. Here are the details:

October 7 - 8
Fighting Pistol
Pueblo West, CO

Here's a link to the course description:

As it sounds as if this will be your first class; don't be in a rush to take "advanced" training. Even if you've been shooting all your life you may not know what you don't know. Start out with a good introductory class that will build a solid foundation.

Even if you decide not to train with us please take training somewhere. It's the most important thing you can do as a gun owner.

Thanks

Thanks for all the links and Im definitly looking at taking some of these classes. As to an advanced class, I guess I have had several classes in what I would call basic classes, as in my CCW classes, an NRA Basic Pistol Class and some private training.

What Im looking for is a refresher on these classes as well as some more advanced training and info for things I have not trained in such as threat assesment, moving and shooting, items such as this. I also would like the trainer to help me correct any idiosyncracies that I may have developed. Also, if anyone can spell idiosyncracies......

Some of the classes looked interesting. The only thing I have a probelm with is most of the sites havent been updated since Clinton was in office and I have no clue what is offered when.

I shall sift through the chaff.

Again, thanks for the help. :)

"The Valhalla Shooting Club near Montrose offers classes in what I can only describe as the coolest indoor shooting facility I've ever seen."

This might be the best looking facility I've ever seen. And at 52,000$ per year, it better be...

The course I want to take

The course I want to take is offered by Centennial Defense Academy. Getting the time away from my job and family is the main reason I haven't taken it, yet.

Don't get your training based upon a classy web site. Go with someone you can look in the eye and know you will learn something important from.

Centennial hosts training with Gabe Suarez.

Thanks for the recommendation, Justin....

If you want to be a member of Valhalla Shooting Club at $52k, you better step up fast.. the Founding Memberships are almost sold out. The next block of 50 General Memberships will sell for over $70k...

Meanhwhile, if you are interested in TRAINING, Valhalla Training Center (same facility, different services) offers a progressive reality based training program for shooters of all levels. We provide everything from introductory shooting lessons to advanced counter ambush training for military special operations personnel and are now conducting Instructor Development for the military and law enforcement also. our per day training prices are about equal to or less than any of the well established facilities.

Check out the website and review the current and past newsletters for more info:

Hope to see you here some time....

At SHOOTING GALLERY, for Colorado training we recommend Rob Pincus at Valhalla and John Farnam at DTI in Ft. Collins. I've had classes with both of them, and they are both world-class excellent.

And as I've said many time before, there are classes and then there is GUNSITE, the Mother Church. If there is any way to do so, every shooter should spend a week at GUNSITE. The 250/350 pistol class is the foundation on which so much else rests.

And it goes withough saying that our thoughts and prayers are with Col. Cooper in this dark time...

I'll second suarez international.

I took there close range gun fighting class. Although Gabe Suarez didn't teach the class I thought it was good quality training at a good price. I like there out look on self defense shooting. MOVE and SHOOT! Get off the X! Shoot them to the ground!

They don't use square range techniques. We where doing a drill on the range with 6 shooters at a time. Shoot what you need to and are confident the threat has ceased, and do a 360 scan (gun loaded, off save, FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER! held close and pointed almost strait down). Very stress inducing; however I am a better CCWer for having taken the class.

They have a good forum at http://www.warriortalk.com/ the gunshop commandos are few and far between and Gabe posts quite a bit. Sign up for their email news letter. It has quite a bit of good into.
They don't operate out of Colorado but travel here for classes.
