Colt Army Special

    hey everyone i just picked up a new (old) colt. its an Army special 38. i havn't had a chance to shoot it yet but i'm curious...at the bottom of the butt is engaved E. S. P. No.25... any ideas?. i just love to think about what all my old revolvers have seen in there lives. any ideas on what this marking could stand for would be greatly apreciated.

    Eastern state pennetentiary? Without a letter hard to say. Even afactory letter might not shed light on that.

    Perhaps Eddyville State Prison (in Kentucky)?
