Got any pictures? I can't find anything on it.
Maybe a description? IWB, OWB? Belt scabbard or slide? Pancacke style? High-ride? Thumb-break?
My first bet would be Bell Charter Oak.
They make a lot of what I'd think of as "old fashioned" holsters, especially for revolvers, and might have something a lot like what you're looking for.

Cuz' in this age of poly-mer pistols and large cap magazines, (not to mention plastic holsters) you and I may be the only ones that know what an S.D. Myres # 38 rig is...
Most of what was left of Sam's company was bought up by the El Paso Saddlery Co. (www.epsaddlery.com), and that included some if not all of Myres' patterns and dies. They might be able to help you.
If not, come back at me and I'll see if I can find someone else that makes something similar.

The holster in question is for Detective Special's or S&W M&P snubbies. Strong side, with about 30 degrees backward slant. The trigger guard is enclosed, but there is a finger slot in the pouch. Think 1920's and 30's.

Butt forward/muzzle pointed toward the rear. Sometimes called the "FBI angle."
So what? Your selection of a sidearm is excellent, (I often carry one myself) and the holster has passed the test of time. Would you like to guess how it was that I knew what a No. 38 was?
Older doesn't necessarily mean, "obsolete."

It's not S.D. Myres, but have you looked at the Bianchi 5BH or 5BHL?

Take the holster on the left in your picture, eliminate the back-flap and strap around the pouch (as well as the safety strap), mostly cover the trigger guard, but cut a slot for the trigger finger as pictured in the middle rig, and scale the resulting design to fit a mid-frame snubby...
And you have it.

http://www.huntercompany.com/hunter.html i have several, used one to place 4th with a diamondback in a recent IDPA match. Not sure how much the holster had to do with it, but it held the weapon and was easy enough to draw from.

gun guy, that doesn't look at all like an S.D. Meyers #38 as it has been described here. Are you sure?
You're right Sam, that still isn't it. The #1130 holster pictured in the link comes closer, but the Myres #38 holster did not have a strap around the pouch because the belt loop was sewn on the back, and normally the rig didn't have a safety strap unless special ordered. The holster was positioned on the belt for a strong side draw with the so-called "FBI slant."

I make my own holsters, and this is one I make for the Detective Special. As pictured, it is rigged as a "tuckable" but by attaching the belt loops directly to the holster it becomes an ordinary IWB. And by taking the belt loops and straps off, it becomes a pancake-style OWB.

196pc, the holster maker from my previous post - Wyatt Burp is also a member of ColtForum. He seems to specialise on classic revolver holsters and the other members there are pleased with the quality he is offering.

These holsters were made before the underlug and ramp front sight version of the DS was introduced. Do you think the later DS' would fit properly in these older holsters?
