A friend wants to put a scope on his Colt Frontier .22 revolver. He was told the top strap is too thin to drill and tap. Are there any other options available??

That gun is too valuable to be modifying it. Have you buddy save up and buy another more easily scoped .22

Good Luck...

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to cause trouble, but I have never understood putting a scope on a revolver and a Colt Frontier Scout seems like a particularly hard to understand situation.

The single action lockwork is not precise enough for quality target shooting so scoping this gun seems useless. If your friend really wants a scoped .22 pistol I would suggest a Browning Buckmark or some other target pistol that comes with a rail or mounts. A single action Colt with optics sounds horrid, to me.

I sort've thought the same thing. But the guy isn't a collector, target shooter or anything like that. He just likes to plink once in a while and his eyes are getting too bad for iron sights.

I think maybe he has no idea what his gun is worth. I'll be sure to let him know.
