Where is the best place to find a Colt Government 1911 if you want to buy one. It seems like the gun stores are always out of them as are most on line stores, except for broker sites, which I would prefer to avoid (prices always seems too high).

If you have a good transfer dealer call Wild West Guns in AK ask for Ken. Tell him rellascout sent you from THR.

My local guys pricing is not too bad either. He ships to your FFL for about $25. Ask for Eric.

I was able to get a series 70 gov mod. through my LGS. They asked their distributors to hunt one down, it took a couple of weeks, but that was back when they were really hard to find. Worth a try, to talk to the LGS you shop at.
    Good luck

Go to several gun stores in your area and leave your name and number. Tell them what you are looking for. You'll probably get a call in a couple weeks. I've gotten two trade ins for $700 each this way. Both in great shape.
