I have a Colt OEM-2 ( no front sight post) that I have been saving for a retirement project. Am new to the AR build world as I carried the plane Jane M-16 for 24 years. I want to put a free floating hand guard with M-Lok on it. Is there any hand guards that can be fitted without taking off the barrel nut and gas block? You would think that this would be available. It makes no sense for Colt to have the barrel and gas system on the OEM-2 and then you have to remove it (typical Colt). My thought would be to have left the OEM-2 barrel and gas system unassembled so you just install the hand guard and new barrel nut when you get the hand guard. Thanks. Jim, BEDFORDTEC
