There's one in my local shop. Great condition (but used). The frame isn't dark/black though - it's stainless. They're asking $299. Is this a good price?

Gary, you need to scoop that up! That is an excellent price, my suspicions would be that the shop doesn't know the value in that piece. Get it now. Mike

The P9 had a stainless slide and an alloy frame.

The price is ridiculously low if it's in good condition. Most are, because the trigger eats fingers for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But at that price, you can afford to send it to SMA for a complete rework, and you will probably be very happy with the results.

That's not a good price, that's a GREAT price. Get it!

The frame should be nickle coated alloy. I have never seen a dark framed one.

How much heavier is the stainless one than the aluminum one?

Colt did not make the P9 in all stainless.

Gander Mountain (of all places) in Dickson City

Bet it's gone by now... that thing is underpriced by several hundred dollars. I've seen bids (actual bids, not listings with no bids) on auctions sites for anywhere from $500 to $650.

I tried to buy it but they only sell instore and do not ship to FFL's

Anybody want to buy it for me and make a quick $50.00 and ship it to my ffl..;)

You should get it. They are very hard to find. I looked for months and gave up. I finally got a Kahr, which I think is a better gun, but it wasn't anywhere near $299.

Funny, I did the same thing - MK9, and I agree on your conclusion. The MK9 was a lot less than I paid for the Prancing Pony 9, though. Haven't regretted that sale, which is unusual!
