I just acquired a Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket .25 ACP made in 1926. It's in really good shape, but my problem is that the magazine is difficult to remove. I've determined that the problem is that the magazine follower lip is catching on the magazine safety disconnector. I've completely stripped the frame except for the magazine disconnector and cleaned up everything, which was actually pretty clean already. I didn't remove the disconnector because it requires flexing the part and I didn't want to risk breaking it. Bit It slides very smoothly in its channel. The shape of the nose of the disconnector seems strange and seems to contribute to the problem. In the images, does this look the way the disconnector is supposed to look, or has this one been deformed? The "dents" in the nose seem to be where the bottom of the magazine follower lip catches when I try to remove the magazine. On one video I found, it looks something like mine, but wasn't clear enough to really tell. By the way, presumably well meaning internet advice against attempting complete disassembly of this model is overblown. Reassembly was a piece of cake compared to, for example, the model 1903 Pocket Hammerless. Even that one was totally doable, but admittedly tedious. (The one that nearly got me was the M1 Carbine bolt reassembly without the tool. Possible, but what a nightmare! I bought the tool.) Thanks for any advice on this small problem.
