It helps to work somewhere (in my case, a maximum-security prison) that has its own firing range, and encourages regular use of it by off-duty employees! :D

I shoot at least 4 times a month. I have found a solution to keep ammo costs down that works for me. When I go to the range I bring my Ruger .22's, and a brick of ammo. I also bring 1 of my centerfire pistols and 2 boxes of ammo. That way when I've shot all of my expensive ammo I can keep shooting .22 all day long.

There will be periods of a couple of months where I just can't get the time to shoot at all, followed by a couple of months where I shoot once, twice or even five times a week.

There should be some way of scheduling shooting, just like changing your socks (well, socks more than once a week ;) ).

Preacherman,

I'm in pretty much the same situation, except for the emloyer. I work for a major newspaper that just happens to have a very nice shooting range in the basement. :D

I shoot once or twice a week when the weather's warm enough. It was nearly warm enough to go to the range today. If it had been, it would have been my first time out in four months: way too long!

Lately, at least once per week. But this week is warming up, Tues and Thurs should be above freezing and I have the days off!!:D
