I have a Galco walkabout IWB holster for my Glock 26 and it's a comfy holster. Not so great on the magazine retention though.

Tonight I played a panicked game of 'hunt the magazine' - "Did it fall out at work? Oh boy, that could be painful to explain" :what: or "Did it fall out somewhere else?"

Turns out it was in the car, and had fallen out of the holster and onto the car floor when I removed it from the glove box. :cuss:

Still, it was an entirely unhappy situation and one I'd rather not repeat. :fire:

So - for everyday use, as far as IWB holsters for a Glock with a spare mag go - what has good magazine retention that you'd recommend?

I cant help on the mag holder as my 27 mag always rides in my back pocket.
As for holsters,Ive found the RM low rider to be the best for me.
Ive bought a lot of holsters for it both leather and plastic and combination leather and kydex. The RM low rider is the last one I'll have to buy.
Works for my body type anyway.YMMV.

I am not a fan of holster/mag carrier combos. I'm right handed. I like the holster on my right between 3-4 o'clock and the spare mag on my left between 10-7 o'clock.

I like the glock belt mag holster. Costs a whopping $5. It is owb. I don't carry iwb mag holders so I couldn't advise you on one. I also like carrying with this single mag pouch in the pic (It looks wide, but it creates a pancake effect and doesn't print):

A member named possum made me the holster and mag carriers. They are top notch quality and it is one of my favorites.

IWB I like something crossbreed-ish and for OWB I like something similar to the raven phantom.

Nor am I. I suppose it does make the mag, holster and gun easier to keep track of by keeping them all together, but my beef is that it makes the reload difficult.

You shouldn't bother with a concealed carry system, you need to have a crew-served Browning Ma Deuce heavy machine gun with you at all times. Concealed carry is pointless in terms of firepower.

See how helpful that is?

Seriously though, you can either recommend something in particular - say 'this doesn't keep the mag with the gun, but I've enjoyed it, it's comfortable and the retention on the mag holster is quite good' or if you have nothing useful to say, say nothing.

BTW, retention is great with the holsters/mag pouches I've recommended. Somtimes I'm doing yard work, field work, rummaging through the woods, jogging or hanging upside down on the monkey bars with my kids. The mag or handgun is always there and I'm in no way paranoid of losing them.

I appreciate the tip, going to check out the crossbreed IWB mag carriers.
