Springfield has the XD Compact in .45, with a standard 10 round mag but also with extended mags for 13 rounds. My XD compact is my everyday concealed carry and I'm very happy with it. On some hot days though it can be a little hard to conceal but so would any comparably sized pistol.

Now that the XDm compact in .40 S&W is out an XDm compact in .45 should be right around the corner. It should be comparable in size to the Glock 30 except for a slightly longer 3.8" barrel. We will see.;)

Isn't the XDm compact just a fullsize gun with a top end that blongs on a compact? I thought they left that entire grip the same?

Nope. The grip is shortened and mag capacity reduced although you get one standard mag and a full size mag with a grip extension. You are thinking about the XDm 3.8 which has a full size frame.;)
