Component Vendors that take back orders

PV today announced they are no longer taking back orders. I was hoping to place one in a couple of weeks when some funds become available. I know you don't have to pay for them till they ship, but use a debit card and need to make sure the funds are there in case they suddenly ship.

With PV no longer taking back orders, what other vendors out there do?

I've got enough to last me through the summer for my needs, but want to get on a list (and lock in decent pricing?) to prepare for the remainder of the year. I could in theory survive the year if I reduced my shooting a percentage (that percentage is TBD).

If you have local shops, support them. Don't rely on technology to get you components. I must be in the right spot to get all the components I need and ever would want from my local shops.

Our "local" shops don't stock because they know they have to compete against e-tailers. Only one shop kept anything and I won't support them for a number of personal reasons.

One of our "local" shops (an hour away, but somewhat local) decided they were going to join in on the panic and started selling primers at $100 to $200/k. They never got any of my business and NEVER WILL.

Sorry and no disrepect meant towards you, but supporting our local community may be good in some places, but that does not apply here.

Cabela's is more local to me (15 mins away) and their pricing is a bit on the ridiculous side. It is interesting to note that even though their prices are typically 25% (or more) than other e-tailers, they have been completely sold out since all of this madness started.

Like I said, I've got enough to last me through the summer, but am looking for supplies for the remainder of the year.

Brownells will let you backorder.

Wideners will let you sign up to get an e-mail on items...that's close to a backorder...I have my iPhone with me all the time so it works for me.

One shop not too far from me has been charging $38-$40 for primers for months.
I REFUSE to pay that when I can order online & pay $20.
Even with the hazmat fee, it's still way cheaper to order online.

Sure I could purchase locally at severely inflated prices, but why? I got into reloading to save money (and yes shoot more). At the inflated prices, I would shoot 25 to 40% less given the same amount of money for reloading. I'm on a fixed budget (married with 11 month old twins) and I want to get the most bang for the buck. I also do local group buys so I can spread the pain of HazMat and shipping.

I think you are better off watching the places that don't take back orders than you are placing an order now and waiting it out. Back orders and at least in the months, at least, and keeping tabs on the places that sell as they get things will probably get you your components faster.

If there was some way to know which places had what number of back orders and on what components you could make an educated guess as to where to place your order. Judging by which place has the fastest ship time (which could mean the lowest number of orders) look at Midsouth shooters, they still accept back orders.

Wow 100-200 per 1000 primers. Sounds like your local shops are in the business of being crocks!!!!!!!!

Primers around here are still 30.00 per 1k. My Remington's are 3 dollars more, but I grew up on them for my large rifles.

I'm sorry you guys have people in your gun communities that want to stand up for the 2nd Amendment then turn around and price gouge you the consumer just to pad their pockets.

Primers here were $30/k 18 months ago. The one place I prefer not to visit raised their prices during the year last year. I don't know what they are charging now or if they even have stock.

I got wind of that particular shop (one of the larger reloading shops on that side of our metroplex) from a buddy that lives close to them and needed some primers for his 44 Mag. He walked in, saw the prices (primers were insane and powders were pretty bad) and he walked right out. He called me a few mins after walking out and asked me when the next group buy was taking place.
