Improvements across the country from various state legislatures are profound. In Texas, recently passed legislation goes into effect September 1, but the impact is already being seen.

State, County and City agencies will no longer be allowed to invoke criminal trespass laws against license holders. Today, I visited a state agency that previously posted the sign making licensed carry on the premises a Class A Misdemeanor. They had alread stripped the signs from the front door.

The language of the recently passed legislation seems to indicate that possession of a valid license is a ' Defense to prosecution' on all posted premises. If this is the case, the prosecution of people who breach the standard PC 30:06 sign (criminal tresspass by handgun licensee) would be very unlikely to face prosecution. As a practical matter, no one has ever been prosecuted under this statute anyway.
