I am actively involved in trying to get Washington State and Colorado to recognize each states CCW. I am a current Washington resident holder and Utah non-resident holder. Colorado will not recognize my Utah permit as I am not a resident.
Based on a basic understanding of the two States, the rub (according the Washington State's Attorney General) is that Colorado does not do a mental health background check. I can't find in the Colorado Statutes anything regarding mental health. The only thing I can find is that they have a medical right to privacy provision in one of the statutes that might be the core issue.
I have an email out to the Attorney General of Colorado in regards to this but thought I would also ask here.
Does anyone know if Colorado does a mental health check for CCW?
Thanks
