I have been looking for a good concealment jacket. often when i wear a coat over my gun, the holster protrudes and it is quite obvious i am packing. does anyone have any suggestions as to who makes good concealment jackets to remedy this problem?
many thanks!

For myself, if it's cold enough for a jacket, it's cold enough for my heavy canvas shirts. I love them, they are made by 5*11 tactical and availible at your nearby PX or online. They have pistol pockets on the chest.
or...
get a paddle holster and stuff it in any jacket's inside pocket. Make sure to set the tension really low though ;)

Probably not the best answers in the world, but I like them :)

You don't need a new jacket, you need a new/better holster.

they make them....
and if you are into shotgunning, or fly fishing, or the Matrix (movie)

I'm sure you would fit right in....

A quality holster and about any jacket works fine, I have cheap Old Navy jacket that does wonders, light enough and thin enough to be comfortable, yet warm enough for most of the time, I would suggest Goodwill or Salvation Army, they have a great selection this time of year. Oh, might have to pick a size larger if you really like that holster.

Gecko, I keep my pocket mouse in a pocket holster in my jackets inside pocket, you don't have to try to fit a paddle in that, actually it wouldn't fit, I know some who just drop it in a unoccupied pocket.

Agreed.

If you can't conceal under any non-tight jacket, you have a serious holster problem.
You are at least using boxy jackets without an elastic waistband, right? If not, try out the boxy work jackets from Carhart/Dickies, they're pretty comfortable as well as being good for hiding a cannon strapped to your waist, I can't imagine any reasonable holster not fitting under one.

You haven't told us what kind of handgun you are carrying and how you want to carry it (IWB, OWB, etc.). A full-size pistol with a double-stack magazine carried in a conventional belt holster is probably going to show under anything short of one of those Old West dusters. A pancake holster will go a long way to trimming down the silhouette and IWB (inside the waistband) holsters will do even more.

Maybe you need a good gun belt. Ordinary belts will allow a gun to tilt outward. A good still gun belt won't.

There is always the M65 field jacket, or a peacoat. Military chic is apparently in style right now...

If you put it in an inside-the-waistband holster, a good Dickies work shirt will cover it pretty well. I managed to hide a CZ97 under it, and that thing is about a 1/2 inch shy of a howitzer....

I agree that you have a holster problem, not a jacket problem. I can easily conceal a full size pistol in a good IWB holster underneath a t-shirt - I do it all summer long.
