    Interesting take here:
I'm in AR, and am keeping up the pressure on Pryor. Any other Hogs on THR should be doing the same.

This, of course, doesn't mean the fight is over, or even that we are winning. At best here, we can only hope to hold our own, and then only if we keep up the fight. Sheriff Joe will probably call for an AWB, and Obama will probably put his name to it, but an AWB is unlikely. But there is still the possibility of them trying to do something, that would cause us to lose ground, by EO. They seem to think they can close the "gun show loophole" via EO, but I'm sure that will prove controversial if they try it, and probably be one for the courts.

Everyone should look at the Activism thread showing the politicians coming up for reelection in 2014 that are soft on RKBA or an AWB. Focus on the ones that aren't committed for or against us and send individual letters to the ones representing you telling them each measure you support and the ones you oppose. Tell them that you know they're up for reelection in 2014 and that you pledge your time and money to support their reelection if they represent you the way you want to be represented. Tell them you'll pledge the same support or more to their opponent in the primary or general election if they don't represent you and vote to permit any further restrictions on firearms owners.

Just don't get too comfortable. ObamaCare was "dead" before it wasn't.

Exactly. I have written multiple times to Pryor, Boozman, and Womack via email, and third party forwarded petitions. One response from Womack, stating he will not vote for 2nd amendment attacks. What this truly means is anyone's guess, and could mean anything.

I am also in AR, and everyone must keep the pressure on full-throttle. I am.

hso, I have taken the liberty to include your paragraph about treating the population the same as one madman. Thank you for penning that. One particularly disgusted day, I penned this letter:

Finally, someone using common sense rather than panicking. Keep calling, writing, etc, and stay active.

I don't see Begich voting in favor of any firearms legislation pushed out by Obama, both because it's not something he seems personally in favor of and because his constituents would frag him in the 2014 mid terms. He only beat Ted Stevens by a percentage point or so, even with Steven conveniently being indicted of various federal felonies just before the election, which subsequently flopped due to prosecutorial misconduct.

It's the old tactic to pile up as much as you can and lets see what we can settle on!
I hope this will go by and nothing will change.
If anything, they should lift the CCW ban in public schools!!

While I agree let's focus on first making sure that we won't have a heap of crap thrown on top of us like the WH, Media, and many of our enemies in Congress want.

Then we get to go on the offensive!

I think it's a matter of time before more and more states allow CCW in schools. Getting a CCW permit has become extremely popular these days so as more and more CCWers join our ranks the better of a chance we have of getting what we want. But I don't see it happening on a federal basis...

Please Please Please don't let up. I can see it now: Biden gives his recommendations (and you know what those will be, they will STILL push for an AWB). The media will go crazy again, and this fight will intensify. Don't give any slack.

    Right.

Do not forget that politicians speak with forked tongues. Do not believe a thing until the vote is taken.
