I currently have a 16in M4gery with BUIS, and an Eotech Reddot with a Eotech 3x Magnifier with flip to side mount. I received an offer for both the Eotechs, $850. I am happy with the sights but wonder if there is something that may be a bit better. Do I take the money and pick up something else? I was looking at possibly the Leupold m4 cq/t. I am open to any suggestions though. This rifle is used for recreational shooting and also serves as my "Katrina Rifle". Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for a redot with a little magnification I'd recommend a Millett DMS 1-4x Red Dot. It's sturdy and the optics are crystal clear. I've mine mounted with a LaRue LT-104 mount and it's solid as a rock and stays zeroed after a dismount/remount. It's quite a bit cheaper than the Leupold being only ~$230 but of course it's not as small as the it is either. I'd take the money saved and add another accessory or buy more ammo and mags :D

I would get the Leupold, but that's coming from someone with no experience from either, I'd be just a preference, but if your using the optic for HD, then get the EoTech, if your shooting at 100+ then I'd get the Leupold.

Hope you find what you want. :)

at the moment, my current list of favorite absurdly priced optics for a carbine is, in order of preference:

swarovski z6i
nightforce nxs 1-4x compact
old S&B short dot 1-4x
aimpoint micro t1 with larue po-boy magnifier
ACOG ta31f-rco
meopta k-dot 1-4x

i really want to put my hands on one of the trijicon TR24s though
