Can anyone provide me with any information regarding the feasibility of this conversion? I know the standard 9X19 is perfectly capable of doing anything a handgun should be expected to do but I am interested in the possiblity of a conversion. Thanks for any information. Stubby:confused:

The magazine and slide stroke on a Beretta are not long enough for 9x23 Win.

You could probably convert a P220 9mm or .38 Super to 9x23 with .38 Super magazines and I have read of one Tanfoglio large frame being chambered 9x23. I don't know how well they will hold up, though.

Beretta makes a model 98 in 9X21. I don't know if it's available in the US, though.

Right on about the 9x21, but it can't be

loaded to do anything that the 9x19 cant do, unless you go to the very short, 90 gr jhp's. See, the longer bulleted rds fill the space available in the mag as it is. The .080" longer case of the 9x21 just means that the bullets are seated more deeply into its case, that's all. So there's no increase in powder-space. The 9x21 was just a legal wrinkle that they came up with, to get around the Italian law against civilians owning 9x19 pistols. Like we got around the Mexican law against military caliber handguns, by using the .38 Super.
