In To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth, Col. Jeff Cooper tells of the attempted hijacking of an Air Iberia Madrid/Rome flight. Cooper says that the passengers killed two hijackers, after which the crew covered the bodies and passed out drinks.
I wanted to find out more about this, but can't find any corroboration of this event. There is a record of a hijacking on a Madrid/Rome Air Iberia flight in 1977, but the Aviation Safety Network describes it as "One hijacker. Plane stormed/hijacker arrested. Duration of the hijacking: less than 1 day." The ASN lists other Iberia hijackings:
None of these seem to fit. Does anyone know the incident that Cooper is discussing?
