Correct ghost ring sight picture - photos-

Which of these is the correct sight picture when using ghost rings? In the first, the base of the post sits on the bottom of the ring, with the top of the post about 25% toward the center of the view. In the second, the top of the post is in the imaginary center of the ring. I suppose either will work if you are consistent about which method you use but I figured there must be a "right" way.

you want the whole front sight fully in view, in the center of the aperture.

I was taught to look through the ghost ring and allow the front post to center itself while placing it on the target...of course, I wasn't taught to cheekweld either. I was taught to shoot by someone using the European erect head position, it was all about stock fit and consistency...it was almost like point shooting a rifle

The way I shoot aperture sights is, the tippy-top of the front sight goes in the middle of the aperture. This tends to happen automatically if you concentrate with keen intent on the top of the front sight. Since this is your aiming reference it should be your focus. That's the way I've always heard it preached, and practiced it.
