Cost of shipping a long gun?

I shipped UPS a old bolt action rifle before I got my FFL. I had to show a copy of the receiving FFL license to UPS before it shipped. I sent it regular UPS ground.

That was not true. UPS policy does not require you to show the receiving party's FFL. Someone was making up their own regulations.

For instance, try and get Smith & Wesson's FFL if you want to send a firearm back to them.

That does not surprise me. Same UPS place tried to deny shipping ammo unless I was Haz Mat certified. A quick call to their 800 number ended that argument.
