Couldn't do it (revolver)

I did just the opposite -- went looking for a small .380 or 9mm and looked at a bunch (Kahr PM9, Glock 26, Para PDA, Sig P232, etc.) and then happened to spot a S&W 642 in the case. Asked to look at it on a whim and ended up walking out with one (with the Crimson Trace grips). I hadn't even thought about looking at revolvers when I started out.

I like it. Feel like it was the right choice for me...

Yeah. Up to a certain point caliber is important -- I for one will never carry or rely on a .25 caliber handgun for self-defense. Of course, that's just my opinion too.

.380 is a respectable cartridge (IMHO, of course) and will do its part if you do yours. You bought a gun that fit you well and you liked it. Good job.

well if you don't like the p232 let me know, my Dad's buddy is wanting one really bad and has put the word out for us to find him one...

I really like that Sig. There are a couple of other .380's I like, too, but you can only own so many guns....OK, so maybe I can only own so many:(.
In all honesty, my S+W 342 is probably my least favorite of all the guns I own, and the one I am most likely to have on me at any given time because it's pretty much perfect for it's intended purpose.

To each his own.

Picked up the 232 Two Tone today. Removed the slide, lightly oiled the rails....fired 107 rounds with out a hitch. Did not expect any hang ups. The 7 rounds were Hydro Shocks. This pistol is reliable & accurate. What else can be said? So now I own a Stainless 230SL and a new 232 two tone. Life is good. So is my collection.

It's a .380. A large .380 at that.
For the same size and weight, if not LESS, you could have a 9mm or even a .40
A lot of people seem to make this assumption. But have you actually weighed (or at least calculated the weight of) a fully loaded gun? The ammo adds significant weight. I carry a P230SL (stainless steel) in .380. Show me a steel 9mm that, fully loaded, weighs less. If you're into polymer, I'll concede that you might be right - but tupperware is not a gun IMHO.
