Finally had all the seclusion I could take. Called buddy Chris and told him to meet me at the range. We set up on the handgun range, two posts between. Shot .380, 9, 38, 357, and 45 acp in ccw and full size configurations. I have developed an issue with my retina that is about the opposite from detachment. A flattening in the center and am getting a cataract. Doc says I've gone from 20/15 to 20/40 corrected. Funny thing, I can now see the sights clearly at arm's length and shot some great groups, especially with the 6" 686.
A great time was had and now I am assembling a couple piles of stuff for the next trip, this time to the rifle side. CZ455, 10-22 with Kidd, Shaw and other enhancements and a TC carbine in 30-30 with some precise cast bullets loads.
Felt so good to be outside shooting bullets at paper for the first time in six months. At 75 I might be running low on time with a safe full of neglected guns to shoot (and then sanitize, oops, clean).

Heh. I went out with two black powder rifles this morning. Taught and experienced shooter to fool with a round ball percussion rifle for next months elk hunt. Shot my 58 to make sure it is ready for the same hunt and successfully tried out a test batch of home made percussion caps. I have literally burned pounds of powder this summer at this spot in order to stay sane. I am so eager for the start of hunting season on September 1st I can hardly wait.

I have an old Renegade and a new inline to zero in before November also. And verify my Savage 220 is still on. And zero a 695k Mossberg for a friend. And my bow. And my horizontal bow. Gee, we better get busy. Better than obsessing about the idiot politicians.

In the spring our rifle range was closed and at the same time the state land in WA was closed to fishing, shooting, turkey hunting, etc. It opened back up during May but it seems like everything is behind this year when it comes to everything outdoors. Trying to get ready to go antelope hunting next month and haven't even gotten to shoot my muzzle loader for the deer hunting afterwards. Shouldn't have even de-winterized my boat this year for all the use its gotten. Oh well.

Trigger therapy :)

Went to the range two days after it reopened.
I think they did a great job at the Twin Ponds rifle range with the reopening with COVID distancing.

Went to the gun club today. Brought the Ruger Mkii, para GI Expert and DPMS AR 10. Not a cloud in the sky and a comfortable 85 degrees. Doesn’t get any better.

Nice PapaG! Glad you got out to shoot.

I stayed home from work today so I could be home when the HVAC tech showed up. Hottest weekend so far and my AC died Thursday night....Grrrr
Anyway, he got the system fixed and I headed to the indoor range to try out my new eyeglasses shooting my .22 revolvers.

It’s official. I can’t blame my crappy shooting on my old glasses any more. :D
I miss just like I did with my old pairs of glasses. I still had fun anyway.
Now I have an excuse to go to the range to figure out what I am doing wrong. :D Work, work, work!
