As some of you know, I kind of have a thing for small knives, and I also like sheep's foot and Wharncliffe blade variations. So, the CRKT made Voxnaes designed Pilar was pretty high on my list of affordable new releases this year. I missed Blade HQ's first shipment of the Pilar, but thankfully GP Knives got them in a day or two ago, and I ordered one yesterday. I went with the cheap shipping option, but hopefully it won't take too long for the USPS to get it from the IL suburbs of STL over to me in SW Indiana. I hope to have first impressions and a review soon.

Edit: Put my own image and video in the posts below.

I had to put the picture into an album first, in order to share it within this thread. I apparently set the album where nothing was viewable to anyone but me. I think I've fixed that now, and it just goes to show that even us Mods are still getting used to the new software. Let me know whether or not you can see the pic now.

I did a very simple video review with no post production and put it on YouTube. You hear my native Georgia accent as I talk about the Pilar and compare it to other knives I have on hand.

A few months ago Blade HQ hinted in a YouTube video that they might be getting CRKT to make them a G10 handled exclusive variant or two, like their exclusive G10 CRKT Burnley Squids. I was perusing their new arrivals at lunch today, and what do you know, a pair of exclusive G10 variants of the Pilar were there. They did the orange that so many people love, but that I don't care for. Thankfully as a second option they went with blue G10, and it looks great in their pics. I have one on the way, and I'm really looking forward to the increased grip and 25% weight reduction.

I think I'd prefer the G10 version Blade HQ has. Noticed it today.

Those just became available today. I ordered one and revived this slightly more than year old thread with that update, rather than starting a new thread. I'll compare both once the economy shipping carrier gets the new one to me. There's another economy folder in the order which should make a further and interesting point of comparison.

Another pic with a few more blue items and the knife sitting on top of a 4x6 yellow Post It pad. This shiuld be a pretty good comparison of the shade of blue of the G10 handle. IMG_20180504_030408.jpg
