3% !!! oh god no not 3% what a waist of time. that's what like 10 people a year? oi what a shmuck. So we supposedly stopped 10 people from dying (the criminal probably just switched to another weapon) and at what cost of they just are pissing on our bill of rights no big loss. Now he's going off about how weapons can never be usde in self defense, target shooting or hunting what does he know about any of those thigns...ugh sorry about the rant guys like this drive me nuts

This guy is really evil.
 
Schumer is lying, "assault weapons we banned CANNOT be used for hunting, CANNOT be used in target practice, and can only be used for self-defense by reckless people."

where did he come up with that!? could kill an entire basketball team in seconds? oh god someone save the basketball teams. then says noone has ever used an AK for self defense I think he needs to check the LA riots video tape and take a cllose look at what those korean shop owners are holding as they ward off people from looting their buisness
 
Schumer: Speaks of his ‘work' on the AWB. Well, when we passed the AWB there was a great deal of concern. The arguments against the ban were two: that the bill would cause the confiscation of many weapons, and two that it wouldn't be effective. Neither worry has been true. No hunting rifles or weapons not on the list were confiscated. Not a single complaint. In all gun crimes, the % of AW used has dropped 1/3. A little more than 3% of crime guns were AW back in 93, it has dropped to 1.2%. LE is for this bill because they don't want to be outgunned. They don't want gangs to have Uzis and AK47s against their 9mms. 2/3 of gun owners want AWB renewed. I bet on a tie, or a pass/fail by one vote. Neck and neck. All it does is renew this controversial, but effective legislation for 10 years. We wish the bill would go further. But in deference to those worried about unreasonable search and expansion, we didn't. These weapons can never be used for hunting, target practice, or self defense unless you are reckless and wild. They were designed by armies for mil itary combat. Not accurate, but have firepower, and be able to fire a lot of bullets at once. Weapons of mass devastation, appropriate in battle, but not in a reasonable country. We do not have an unlimited right to bear whatever arm. No amendment is absolute. There are lots of limits on our 1st amendment rights. You can't scream fire in a crowded theater. The same with the 2nd. I do resent the left who want to fit it through a pinhole, but it is not unlimited. You should not be able to buy a tank or bazooka. Here is an AK, most widely available AW. With a bit of practice, you can kill a basketball team in seconds. They are not even accurate or used for hunting. The Uzi comes with 32 round magazine, capable of being fired fast. Easy to hide, very reliable. The Uzi was made for the Israeli army. The street sweeper can fire 12 shotgun shells in less than 15 seconds.
 
Wow, Schumer is lieing like crazy.

Saying the ban works, and no non AW has been confiscated. Talking about how recless you would have to be to use it in self defense.

AK's arent accurate. They arent made for self-defense. No one would responsibly use one for that. :scrutiny:

Oh my. A 12ga that can fire 12 shells in 15 seconds. Its a semi. Obviously he has never seen that shotgun expert who shot 8shells in about 3 sec. with a farking pump. :rolleyes:

Tell that to a father a few miles from here who fought off a home invasion by shooting the BGs through the door with his AR-15. He was not violating rule 4; there was no doubt of the target. The target was the home invaders. His wife and his kids were behind him, and they were under attack. Home invasions stopped around here after that incident made the papers.

Feinstein also said something to this effect earlier. Absolutely a lie -- just in January California police went to the homes of rifle owners who Cal DOJ temporarily thought were AWBs. Went right to the owners' homes and confiscated said rifles.

Yes, they confiscated the rifles, here in America. And the rifles were LEGAL!
 
It is NOT part of the citizens RKBA. There is NO CIVILIAN USE for the 19 weapons banned in the AWB. Pre-ban AW plague our streets. Speaks of a slain officer, killed with a banned weapon, some 9mm pistol. That's all we're trying to stop here. LEO, FoP, others support us. As I said, this bill is hanging by a thread. I first ask any of listening to call your Senators and let them know how you feel. I say to our President, please, you said you support this ban, step up to the plate, help get it passed. One thing the people are upset with is when a politician says one thing and then does another. To say we shouldn't amend this bill would make the people think he doesn't want this passed. Cheney should be available tomorrow, we ask him to sit and cast in favor of the ban. I understand there is a lot of misinformation about this bill. I oppose abolition of the 2nd. But if we don't have reasonable laws, our country couldn't function. The expiration would be a step backword. I urge support for the AWB amendment.
 
DeWine: I spoke earlier today in favor of the AWB. This is a simple bill. This is mearly status quo. A law that has support of LEO across this country. It is the right thing to do to continue this law. Voices support for Levin amdt.
