it was ok for his father to somehow get permits to build a huge house in long beach, where the zoning was set up so it was almost impossible to build what he built. shows you these bastards can do whatever they want. they are the crimminals!

God! I hate living in NYC now, who am I gonna write to to complain about this? My mayor? Bloomberg My senator? Schumer. My Governor? Cuomo Arrrgh:cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss:

I was still in camo with my AR in my hands after returning from a night hunt when that lunatic was yelling "NO ONE HUNTS WITH AN AR"... what an idiot. New York can have him.

Skelos - the NY Senate Republican majority leader has already said he supports banning all high-cap mags (currently only pre-ban mags are 'allowed'.)

I fear this 'fight' if it was ever one, is lost. And the same goes nationally.

Boehner is in the same situation, and he'll do the same thing.

To paraphrase he said "I am a gun owner and hunter, I have a Remington Shotgun".

The Governor apparently doesn't know that Remington produces 'HUNTING AR' rifles. They are the first two models listed on the Remington centerfire rifle webpage.
A lot of companies produce hunting AR models. It's an action platform, nothing more sinister. Many hunting guns began as military platforms, a natural progression.

Something is rotten in the State of NY but it's hardly a litmus test for the rest of the country.

All this recent talk, it's like throwing a dart at the map of the US to pick "where is it going to start?" (The bloodshed.)

First, all of those proposals will not likely have a significant effect on crime and as a result has little to do with crime control. But... the polticians (especially ones that lean on the liberal side of the fence) have always wanted strigent gun controls. Saying these potential regulations does not effect the ability to acquire guns for hunting has absolutely nothing to do with it. They need to tell it like it is.... People Control.

Gun ownership in the USA has moved from primarily "hunting" to sport shooting and defensive purposes as the dominant reason to buy or own a firearm.

The Freedom Group has already moved in part to NC.

If he wants strict gun laws he could always copy them from CT. That would have prevented a lot of shootings. Oh, wait.

If he moves to ban certain items he will have to offer compensation to owners for the loss. How likely is that to happen?

We already have strict gun laws (our AWB is a mirror/continuation of the '94 federal AWB.) He only wants to make them more restrictive.

Of course that wouldn't help. At all. Especially if he grandfathers in older guns. If he doesn't he has to pay compensation to the owners.

And of course crime rates will go up, and itll be blamed on the free states. I dont understand how ignorant people can be. We had a assult weapons ban for 10 years, it didnt change a thing. There are roughly 390 people killed every year with by long guns. We could use the money a assault weapons ban would cost and save more lives by spending it on medical costs for gunshot wounds. Yet whenever these arguments are brought up they are either shrugged off or the question "but why do you need military weapons?" Is brought up. Which is as good as saying, "its not safteywe are worried about, its just we dont like those guns."

I watched Cuomo`s seemingly unending state of the state speech.I really didn`t want to but a citizen- no scratch citizen- I`m now a SUBJECT of the mad emporer Andrew the Imperious, soon of Mario the Pius-I forced myself to endure that windbag`s ravings and rantings. And he gave a stiff arm salute 3 times if I`m not mistaken. His facial expression reminded me of a a potrait of one of the mad Roman emporers-Caligula perhaps or Nero or was it Mussolini or Hitler?
All I can say people in NY State are in for a very bad time and my assemblyman -a former president of the NYS Rifle &Pistol Association bluntly said a lot of the Repiblicans can no longer be relied on to oppose this gun grab.
There`s also legislation to require all owners to register the guns- which will pave the way for confiscation.

I watched and it was Mussolini that popped into my mind. He looked deranged up there hollering and gesturing. But , to be honest he scared me. I hate politicians that shout. Even worse was all the clapping when he worked the audience into a frenzy. Dangerous.
