I searched THR for threads pertaining to Pro-Gun legislation being presented to Congress, but haven't seen any dedicated specifically to these current bills.

We have H.R. 133, the "Citizens Protection Act of 2013" sponsored by Congressman Thomas Massie (KY-R), which would repeal the "Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 and make ammendments to that act." H.R. 133 has been submitted to the House Judiciary Committee. I cannot find any record online as of yet stating that this bill has been assigned a House subcommittee.

The other, is H.R. 35, the "Safe Schools Act of 2013" authored by Congressman Steve Stockman (TX-R), and cosponsored by Congressman Paul C. Broun (GA-R). H.R. 35 has been submitted to the House Judiciary Committee, and further referred to the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, Homeland Security, And Investigations. The members of this subcommittee are:

    Majority Members (Republicans)
    F. James (Jim) Sensenbrenner, Jr. (R-WI) [Chairman]
    Louie Gohmert (R-TX)
    Howard Coble (R-NC)
    Spencer Bachus (R-AL)
    J. Randy Forbes (R-VA)
    Trent Franks (R-AZ)
    Jason Chaffetz (R-UT)
    Trey Gowdy (R-SC)
    Raul Labrador (R-ID)

    Minority Members (Democrats)
    Bobby Scott (D-VA) [Ranking Member]
    Pedro Pierluisi (D-PR)
    Judy Chu (D-CA)
    Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL)
    Karen Bass (D-CA)
    Cedric Richmond (D-LA)

I would encourage members here to write your congressional representatives urging to support these bills through out the legislative process. If other members know of other pending bills, please feel free to include them in this thread as well.

(Disclaimer: I am no expert on the legislative process, however I do plan on doing what I can - writing my representatives - asking for their support... If I am mistaken, or incorrect in any information, please speak up. If this belongs in a different forum, Moderators, please feel free to move at your discretion.
