I’m pretty excited about the CZ 600 Trail. It looks like a hunting rifle mixed with an AR mixed with a PDW. I think it will sell well as there really isn’t anything mainstream like it. It is only being offered in .223 and 7.62x39. I’m hoping they release it in 6.5 Grendel. I doubt CZ will make it in a full power rifle caliber (.308 and .30-06 parent cartridge variants) as a more stout caliber combined with the PDW type stock and light weight will likely detract from the rifle’s appeal. I think it would shine in 6.5 Grendel… light recoiling, AR-15 sized round, accurate, and can shoot effectively at greater ranges that .223 and 7.62x39.

What’s everyone else’s impressions?

I think it is a lot like Christensen’s Modern Sporting Pistol, Sig’s Cross and Q’s The Fix. That said, the CZ is looks to be easier on the wallet while the competitors can be had in longer actions with more powerful chamberings. Overall, I wish CZ had left the 550 and 527 actions alone other than taking some steps to make them lighter.
