Hi Folks,

I have a CZ 75b 9mm and was wondering if the cheap remington yellow box ammo at Wal-Mart will do okay in it. It seems like a way to collect some brass fro relaoding while getting 250 live rounds of practice. Any experience or suggestions would be appreciated.

Jeff

Guys,

Thanks for the fast information and good news. The CZ has fed everything I've put through it so far, including my reloads, but I hadn't tried the yellow box stuff. The local Wally World didn't have the white box in 9mm so I couldn't price it.

The CZ has been great. I would shoot it more but I can't pry it out of my wife's hand when she is at the range with me. At some point I should look into a CZ in 45acp. If it is half as good as the 75b, it will still shoot better than I can shoot it.

Regards, Jeff

the WWB is 18.50 around here, and the 250 round box is 52.95. a little bit more, but not by much. sometimes when i need to buy ammo, and when the wwb is out i'll buy the UMC value pack. my fiance shoots 9mm, i'll be reloading hers as soon as i get a few more thousand primers on the bench.

the 97b is an excellent gun. don't overlook the 40sw caliber too in the 40b. :)

don't forget about the excellent 40 smith and wesson cartridge. :)

I've tried every 9MMx19 I have found FMJs & JHPs and my 75B
has fed everything - 580 rds with 100% reliability. She's proving
to be quite the talented eastern euro who can take anything down
her throat and spit it out...

what?

If you're wondering if they will feed in YOUR 75B - buy a box and find out
at the range - best place to find out rather than when it counts eh?

My CZ has fed everything I've put through it also. I dont't think you'll have a feeding problem. They aren't finicky eaters.:)

My cZs fire just about everything they have been fed. I shot over 700 rounds of cheap Remington yellow box without a problem. It just took a little more cleaning afterwards.

My 97B...

...will eat anything I load in the chamber that includes Wolf steel cased ammo, WWB and Hydra-Shok. I would definitely buy another CZ

My 75B fires everything --NOW - it didn't like aluminum cases until CZ sent me a new extractor spring. I then shot one box of aluminum and never bought another. Why tempt fate?

Guys,

The Wal-Mart price for their 9mm yellow box stuff was $42 if I remember correctly. That makes it the cheapest 9mm ammo in this area that I've found. Once that is shot up, I'll have accumulated around 600 cases for my reloading. Since I usually go through about a hundred rounds in a session, that will last me awhile. Plus I always pick up fired brass at the range. Reloading inexpensively is part of the challenge and fun. :D

I have found 2 bullets types my 97 does not like, the Hornady XTP 200 truncated nose HP, and a stubby little 160 gn LSWC. However, if I load only 5-6 rounds in the mag, my 97 will feed even these, but mag spring tension makes these 2 bullet types nose dive into the bottom of the feed ramp on a full mag.

As far as 185 JHP's, and everything else, it eats ammo like candy, and the accuracy and comfort, holy moly! Love this thing:D

schmeky.... grab some extra power mag springs. :)

miossi gun works has them in stock and iirc it was about 20 to have a pair shipped to me. it fixed nose diving in my original beat up 40sw magazines.

Thanx for the tip, I'll do this. Actually, I have no complaints with the feeding of my 97. The overall performance has exceeded my expectations, and I'm a picky b_stard.

Igor 60,

That RSR special is sweet. . . . . I'll have one as soon as the seller gets back in town around the first week in August. Can't wait.

schmeky, expect to fully load the mag and smack it around for a lil bit. if it's anything like what happened to my factory 10 rounders, it will be very stiff - but zero feed problems.
