Here are some lousy pics, but the gun was awesome. I would have kept it, but I just prefer either a Glock trigger or a 1911 trigger. If I had unlimited funds, I'd own this exact setup again.

A friend even made me a really nice holster for appendix carry. Great for carry, reliable, large enough to shoot volume, a rail for night/low light shoots...Really nice gun and an under rated gem for the money!

The only issue I ever had wasn't really an issue. It didn't like the light loads I used in my Glocks. I didn't make them light for any reason except to simply save money for volume. Maybe I could've messed with the springs, but I just stepped up the loads since it was so reliable. I admit to dumping in some lighter rounds when loading mags. I would have no clue where they ended up so I'd get an occasional malfunction clearing drill. :)

Note the previously mentioned full sized mags with sp-01 base plates. I thought that was a really neat little trick. If you're buying mags, might as well pay the same price for mecgar full sized mags and $8 a pair for the sp-01 base plate from the cz custom shop online. Works reliably since cz designed them.

I have no complaints and as a rarity...no improvements given the low price. The trigger COULD be better (but what trigger couldn't?!) and the finish isn't beautiful but the price is right and it does it's job! Really really great guns.

on the first pic. are those grips the same? the compact grips dont look shinny and i love it!

CZ Custom messed up my order and sent full size grips, for my compact. I liked them so much, I ordered them for my compact again! They have different looks to them because of lighting, but the finish is very close. The wood grips look the best, but the VZs perform the best by far... No slipping with sweaty hands like the wood.

Well, someday my CZ75 Compact is going arrive and I've already got a set of oiled walnut Marschal grips for it and it will be the prettiest one on the block, so na-na-na-na-boo-boo! :D

http://www.cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-p01Here is my favorite, you can get the tactical version with night sights for a few dollars more and the omega trigger.
Also there is a custom version for around $920.00, "buds has them" it's a loaded gun with hand fitting wood grips etc. Kind of like a cz Kimber.

Those pics remind me of how much I really do need to buy a 40B when I find one.
Best 40 I've ever owned! Best trigger of any CZ I've owned too.... Picked it up from a guy with 4-10rd mags, for $350. A little steep, I know, but what a great gun. Reminds me of a double stack Para Ord 1911 when you hold it.
Hope you find one:cool:

can anyone recommend steel targets that are inexpensive?

Nope. AR500 isn't cheap. I'm a frugal guy, but I make sure to buy the good stuff. I can PM you my local guy who sets up targets for local competitions and ranges. He does great stuff. He also ships out in a USPS "if it fits it ships" box so shipping isn't astronomical unless you buy a whole bunch of plates. PM me for details. Poppers, swingers, texas stars, trap doors...anything you can think of.

I located a P01 out of state, the guy never fired it, should I get it for $530.00 or pick up a new one just wait it out, there are none around.

If you're going to buy USED -- and that's a used gun as far as CZ is concerned -- and do without a warranty (although they'll probably treat you right), then I think I'd look to pay less. You might do better by WAITING for a NEW ONE.

My CZ 75 compact has been very accurate, and has a precision machine-like quality to it. However, I've put rubber grips on it, and am waiting base pad extensions from CZ before I shoot it again. With the original plastic grips and the metal mag "ledge" base pad, it had a surprising amount of sting to the recoil - not that bad, really, just more than I'm used to with CZ.

Actually, If I had it to do over again, I'd probably order the PCR, as I like CZ's decockers and find even the compact a little heavy for extended carry. It's such an awesome gun, though. Not selling it. One of my other CZ's has the extended base pads and feels great.
