CZ 75 SP-01 Shadow 2...

It would be the best $1100 you've ever spent, and has largely caused neglect in my other 9mm guns.

With LOK palm swell grips.

Edit: There is something you should be aware of given the context of your recent question about the Sig P210 and the possibility of a Shadow 2. Sig uses pretty durable finishes. I don't recall what they call it, but HK uses about the same one and calls it nitro carborizing I believe. Those finishes, while quite dull looking are typically very durable and even in appearance.

CZ is not known for the finish on their guns. I assume you know that since you have a PCR. But it warrants repeating for anyone who stumbles into this thread and doesn't own a CZ. My Shadow 2 has a nicely done finish and it is very evenly applied. I think they call it a poly coat, and it is just that, multiple coatings.

After 1220 rounds through mine, it still looks more or less perfect. However these guns are meant for competition, and competitors run their guns very hard. It is not uncommon to see these guns with chipped up finishes and looking rough. Do some Googling and you'll see. The magazine well at the very least takes a huge beating in many competitive shooting sports. But from what I hear, and from the limited experience I have, this reputation is deserved.

I do not compete yet so mine isn't taking much abuse, but I expect it to. My range time is geared towards speed and defensive shooting. So as I continue using it in that way, reloads will start to beat it up. But that's how these guns are meant to be run. Fast. So it you want a gun that's going to look perfect forever, you will need to handle it with reasonable care. If you intend to run it the way it's meant to be run, expect some imperfections. It's honest wear though.

I like mine enough I'm considering picking up another, putting night sights on it, and putting it in the bed side table. Don't know if it's worth trading in my VP9 though, as that's the gun occupying that role.

15 yards off hand keep strings of five shots in under 3 inch circles.

That's just regular shooting at the range with my old eyes. Not the best the gun can do but it's better than I can do with my other 9mms.

You won't be disappointed with it.

I just cannot get into the sa/da pull. I'd rather have the tacsport or the witness limited myself. or the dan wesson dwx looks interesting. And I am not a fan of the cz polycoat finish.

I’m the same way. While I have a handful or so of Sigs, they really don’t do anything for me, except for my X-5’s. The SA trigger makes them so much more enjoyable to shoot.

I have a few of the Witness Match models which are nice, but the finest trigger of all of my non carry pistols is on my CZ 75B Tactical Sports. That pistol is a real Joy to shoot, and I’m a pretty hardcore 1911 guy.

The shadow may be considered CZ’s top pistol, but I guarantee that it doesn’t have a better trigger than the Tactical Sports.

I say go for it if you really want one and it's not going to break the bank. Until this thread, I haven't really heard anyone say anything negative about them on other forums including competition related forums like brian enos and on Reddit... It's on my bucket list, but knowing me, I'd end up buying two cheaper flavors of CZs rather than just one Shadow if I had the money unless I planned on competing with it.

I’ve handled a Tactical Sport Orange, and it is the clear winner for trigger quality. In fact I plan to purchase one of those too.

But if you like /need a DA/SA gun, the Shadow 2 is good. I just kind of see it as two different animals.

The only problem I have is if you look at CZ's European website, they show a Shadow 2 with optics cut. I don't know why they don't sell that model here.

I wonder what the difference would be to just buy a standard SP01 and Cajun Gun Works or someone similar to go through it. I have never done that with a CZ so I don't know.

Would you please elaborate and educate me. I am not familiar with this pistol.

Maybe I shouldn’t have asked, the last thing I need is Another gun to add to my long list!

I was blissfully ignorant as well until I fondled one at my LGS a few weeks back. Until that moment I didn't know pistols even had triggers that nice

My Tactical Sport has won me lots of competitions at the dueling posts.

I'm a big overall CZ fan, I own many and the only one that I'm not big on is the CZ 2075 RAMI .40
I also have some IMI pistols that are very similar to CZs and use the same mags.
