CZ 75 SP-01 vs M&P 9 M2.0?

I have a SP-01 and love it. I've had and sold 3 M&P 1.0s. So I have not had experience with the 2.0. Although I have sold all of my M&Ps it's not because I didn't like them. I just not like them as much as some other striker fired pistols that I own. If I had to choose between these two I would choose which ever action I liked more. DA vs Striker. I think that will make more difference that any other between these two guns. That is unless you want to highly modify the SP-01 and then you can turn it into a great race gun but then it'll be a $1000-$1200 gun.

My wife's gun is a 1st Gen M&P 9c. It's a nice pistol and it fits her well, but I shoot noticeably (at least to me) less accurately with it than with my CZs. I've never shot an SP-01, but I have a 75B and a PCR (aka 75D Compact, and is basically the same as a P-01 minus the rail), and an SP-01 should perform somewhere between the two of those. I personally love the decocker on the PCR... that's the only thing I'd change about my 75B (which has a standard safety).

I also have a 9c in addition to the Shield. I am much more accurate with the Shield than the 9c. Why? I have no idea.

And yes the CZ's accuracy beats them both.

Interestingly, I figured she would want the Shield, and it was one of the many guns she handled at the gun shop, but she didn't care for the ergonomics when holding it, so it didn't even pass on to the shooting phase... the three she selected for shooting were the M&P9c (obviously), a Glock 26, and a Glock 17 or 19 (can't remember which one).

It's interesting to me that she liked how the Glocks felt in her hand, as I personally hate their ergos... but I was intentionally not biasing her at all, because I wanted her to pick the gun SHE liked best, without regard to what I like. Using a common caliber with my pistols (9mm) was good enough for me.

The only thing I can attribute the lower accuracy to on the 9c is the lighter weight compared to my CZs... it's a well-made gun, feels solidly contructed, but it seems to "jump" a little more in the hand. It's not painful, the recoil just moves the 9c more than the CZs, it seems.

Here's the thing on my side. My wife, not a gun person, started getting interested in owning a pistol. She got to shoot a few and liked the Sig P320 but never could make a decision.

I've been wanting a CZ75 PCR. I ended up getting one. She shot it, liked it, now it's hers.

Remember what I said: there's always risks. In my case, getting both would have been the best strategy

Or just get another PCR! ;) That is my favorite pistol of all. :D

It's been my experience that in matters like this the risk is not worth the acquisition.

Remember the First Law of Married Life: If Mama ain't happy, nobody is happy!

My solution is I buy guns all in the same color - black. This way she could not tell how many I have in my collection. Mama is happy, so am I.

PS- sneaks the new acquisitions in when Mama is out helps a lot.
