Got my wife a 75B SA for run and gun. She used it once, worked perfectly but the trigger was a gritty mess. We sent it off to the factory to get the trigger smoothed out and after over three months got it back today. Well now it won't run at all. Nothing but light strikes. Can't even make the damn thing go bang. Maybe one or two rounds out of 16 will light off.

I'd rather not send it right back. So if anyone has an idea what it might be I'd really appreciate it.

Sorry to hear that. Wonder if they changed out the mainspring to a lighter weight, to help the trigger pull? Can't imagin them doing that, but unless they screwed up the trigger job, I don't know what else would cause your problem. Looks like another trip to CZ:mad:

CZ-USA does indeed put lighter mainsprings in at the shop. I had some problems with an SP01 and they swapped me out with a new, slightly modified one. The replacement pistol had a fair amount of polishing on the interior of the slide, the barrel was polished to a mirror finish and a lighter weight mainspring was installed. It also had a competition hammer along with a handwritten note thanking me for my patience and telling me to enjoy the upgrades.

CZ/CZ-USA is a top-notch group of people with great products.

Spencerhut, I can hook you up with my contact at CZ-USA. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Mike at CZ is who I have been dealing with. I was kind of hoping someone would just say adjust this or that and it will be fine. When it comes to my guns, one strike and you are out. I'll send it to Angus next I guess. Just really bummed. I heard nice things about the CZ factory guys.

A 16# mainspring is what I use in all my CZs, no light hits. I'd order a spring before I sent it out again:)

Don't send it back

Buy a main spring aka "hammer spring pack" from wolff gun springs. I also use a 16lb spring because I like a light trigger pull.

If you get the following pack you can decide how light to go...the standard is 20 lbs.....but again I use the 16lb. Just scroll down the page a couple inches and you'll see the following:

Quote:

For use in: Traditional configuration, standard & longslide models
This hammer spring pak contains 1 each of 16, 17, 18 and 19 pound reduced power hammer springs described above, allowing adjustment of the firearm to individual requirements.
Stock No. 26506.....$ 10.80

Thanks for all the replies. I'll try the 16lb spring and check to see if the hammer is dragging.

After waiting for three months my wife was pissed. Loaded a mag and it went click, no bang. She was mad.:cuss:

Make sure the hammer isn't dragging on the sear when it falls. I seem to remember this can happen if the overtravel screw is set too far in.

Zak wins the prize. It was indeed the overtravel screw. I turned it CCW a few turns and now she is working again.

How do I setup the overtravel screw properly?

Spencerhut - If you're interested, I have a few 20# mainsprings laying around. If you want one let me know via pm or e-mail and I'll send you one.

Okay, I'll Loctite it where it is.

I've got a spring set on the way, thanks for the offer:)
