I posted this on CZ forum and didn't get an answer, so I thought I'd try here.

Just got my CZ-82 from AIM, and one of the 2 magazines it shipped with does not drop free easily if the slide is forward. With the slide locked back, it drops free positively. The other mag works perfectly. There does appear to be a small scratch on the side of the bad mag that lines up with the right-hand grip screw but even taking the screw halfway out does not allow it to drop free consistently. I tried smoothing down that spot on the mag with some steel wool and a bit of lube, still no effect.

I also did the magazine release repair according to these instructions, with no improvement.

Thanks in advance.

1st; if it's just 1 mag, out of 2, then there's a 99% chance that it's not the gun, but the magazine. Does it also do it with a full magazine? Mine is right on the border line of it dropping freely with certain magazines. But with the weight of the bullets in the gun, they drop out freely. Granted, you won't be dropping a full magazine, but rather an empty one. Look at the hole in the FRONT of the magazine that snaps into the release. See if you can sand the top just a pubic hair. Not too much or the magazine won't seat firmly and you'll have feeding problems. Just enough to smoothen it out.
