I am trying to get an idea of the approx. size or circumference of the CZ-83 grip. Is it close to a Kahr or more the size of a CZ-75?

It's been a couple of years since I held one but if memory serves me, it's about 2/3 to 3/4 the size of the 75. It's not a small gun but not a large one either. It is the ONLY .380 that has ever caught my eye as being anything other than junk; not even the Walthers tempt me. Now that said, you probably find a quality 9mm about the same size with the same controls and have the extra power of the 9 over the .380. If I had the money, I'd own an 83, just because I like it. Silly, I suppose.

IMHO, the Keltec, Kahr, Ruger LSD... remind me of cheap toys made in China!!

I measured the length of string wrapped around the grip of a CZ82 (9x18 version of the CZ83)...just under the trigger guard. It came to 5.25 inches. I don't have a CZ75, but a Beretta is pretty close. It came to 5.50 inches.

Wow! The Beretta has a pretty large grip (92) and the 83 is only 1/4" less in circumference.

I bought a used CZ83 just because I had the money and I could. I certainly didn't need it. It is a fine machine, but not slim or light. It is a good shooter, like all the other CZs I have. I haven't measured any grips but it is close to the CZ75B and the XD9SC that I carry. I just like CZs. I have average to large hands and it fits me better than a PPK.

I don't know if you can tell much from this picture but the second from the top, far right is a CZ83 9x18.
The three to it's top and left are P-64 and the one second to the left is a Hungarian PA-63. The rest are Makarovs.
    All are 9x18.
