Weight of CZ97: 38 ounces.
Weight of P220: 28 ounces. (Stainless is 38).

You can buy used and reconditioned SIG P220's at very reasonable prices, and have a handy, extremely accurate, extremely reliable, extremely durable pistol.

I dunno. That's some nice accuracy the CZ 97B folks are reporting, and Black Snowman is documenting.

I liked my Sig P220ST, VG -- reliable, high quality gun with excellent ergos and a good trigger -- but I could never shoot the thing to my satisfaction, so I sold it.

For a while I thought I was just a recoil wuss and a bad shot; then two things happened. (1) First time I picked up a 1911 I shot groups much better than I could with my SIG. (2) I bought a .44 Magnum S&W revolver, with which I proved more accurate than either of the aforementioned guns. It wasn't recoil. The SIG just wasn't all that accurate.

Handy? Yes.
Extremely reliable? Yes.
Extremely durable? Yes.
Extremely accurate? No.

My Sig P220 is the least accurate auto I own. Of course that may just be the luck of the draw or it may be that I just drew especially good CZ-75's and a S&W 1911 but I doubt it.

The Sig isn't a dog by any measure but it doesn't come anywhere near being as accurate in my hands as my other auto loaders. I can shoot my CZ's and my S&W 1911 into a 2 to 3" circle at 15 yards without even trying. I absolutely cannot do that with the Sig - 3 to 4" is more normal and minute of pie plate at 25 yards is doing good.

Is it me or the gun? Probably me - which indicates that the ergonomics of the SIG don't fit me as well as the ergonomics of the CZ or S&W. Which is wierd because the Sig P220 feels better to me than any other hand gun I own (I own 8 handguns). One would think I could shoot it best of all.

That said: The SIG P220 is my daily carry piece just because it is:

Handy
Extremely reliable
Extremely durable
