I am getting an itch to get a CZ. Confusion sets in on which 9mm model to get. This will be a all purpose gun.
Will the alloy frame/steel slide combo be durable in the long run or I should stick with an all steel model?
Cheers.

I can't say from experience, but I am confident the alloy frames will last a life time.

As far as which CZ ... I recommend a safety model vs a decoder model, because from what I hear their triggers are better out the box. That's not from experience as if never shot a decocker model, so take it with a grain of salt.

A good start is a CZ 75b, and if you want a rail and night sights, might as well shell out for an SP01. They both will shoot very similarly, but the SP01 is a little front heavier with the rail and a lot of people say that helps soak up even more recoil. There are a few different 75B's .. 75B is the standard non railed safety model. The 75BD is the decocker model. The 75B SA is the single action only version. The 85B is the ambidextrous version of the 75B.

If you're looking to possibly carry, then look into the P01 (compact decocker with rail) or a 75b compact (safety with no rail). Otherwise, Id just get a full size 75b/SP01.

I have an SP01 and a CZ 75b on its way as well. I would love a 75B SA or a Shadow (CZ models without a firing pin block).

For all purpose gun I voted P-01 since it can be concealed pretty easily in an IWB holster and do nightstand and range duty.

If it were nightstand and range gun I would get the SP-01

Range gun CZ 75B

But hey I love them all, I am looking to add a 75 Compact and SP-01 when funds permit.

The 75D PCR isn't on there. Compact, alloy frame like the P-01 with no light rail. Ultimate all purpose CZ.

I've owned a bunch, and the steel compact is my favorite. If your gonna carry, I'd go PCR for sure:)

I went with the P01 for my first CZ as I liked the full length aluminum frame with a rail, in a shorter more concealable package.

Just bought a CZ 75B a week ago.Cant speak for the other model CZ's but i do know i want a 2nd CZ75b.Yes,its that good!

Itch scratched

I never had the cz itch.

Then I shot a cz 75bd compact. Felt great, albeit slightly heavy (compared to plastic wonder 9's that is). I really liked the fact that there is no safety, though I see that the decocker feature stirs up quite the argument amongst cz people. I love it, because I just don't want safeties on my potential carry guns. Just my preference, because that's what I'm accustomed to. Some love it, some hate it. It felt fine for me, even with a high thumb grip, my paws never activated it unintentionally. The DA pull was smooth without being annoyingly long like a beretta and the SA was crisp, but it could be a little crisper.

I discover the cz 75 pcr compact and ordered one. It's essentially a cz75bd compact with an alloy frame so it trims down nicely to 27 ounces or so.

I'll withhold my judgement until it arrives. It's the first time I bought anything that I've never shot or handled sight unseen, but I couldn't find one locally. The cz75bd compact was close enough, so I pulled the trigger on the pcr.

The full size 75 is a really nice gun for the money and a very sweet shooter. But the "compact" just hits the sweet spot for me and feels right when I pick it up....like a glock 19 or 1911 commander. Even if I weren't going to carry it, I'd probably still opt for the compact because it feels right and shoots great in my hands.

I voted for the vanilla CZ75. (I could just have easily picked the 75B). If you want a CZ, you want a steel pistol with internal rails. Everything else really just leaves you with a funny taste in your mouth as you got something, but don't have what you really want. Get the original.

(That said I have a witness, a CZ75 clone, and I love it, see what my opinion is worth).

PCR all the way if CC is a consideration. I have no issues with the trigger. CArry it decocked and the DA pull is less than hammer down but it is still decent. The SA pull is good as well. If you want a 1911 trigger, get a 1911. The trigger is very servicable.

Start-off with the Classic 75B, then the P-01 or PCR then the SP-01 T... Those are the 'basics' then expand from there!

Buying one doesn't cure the itch. It inflames the itch. Might as well buy two right off.

Congrats Daybreak.
I owned a P-01 briefly and it was a nice gun. Looked great, light, and fit my hand perfectly. However I bought it solely based off of online reviews, and didn't look at it in person ahead of time (couldn't really find one, which didn't help). If I were to buy another CZ (which I will) I'd probably go with the CZ-75 full-size or compact. The full-size didn't really seem/feel all that big to me, and I prefer the cocked and locked over a decocker. The light rail is something that I probably won't ever use, so that was just something on the gun that I didn't really require.

The sp-01 looks like a nice fit....as accurate as the rest of them ? Any experiences with the 40s&w platform? Just curious....

The 75D PCR is missing from your poll. Same gun as the P-01, but without the light rail.

Why hasn't anybody mentioned The PCR??
Its not in this Poll!! ;)

P-01 and PCR are CZ's most versatile Guns.

My bad... Did not think to put it in there...can I add it to the Poll?
