CZ m.82

Howdy ya'll!

Neighbor has CZ M.82 that is experiencing problems with every other round. First round chambers and fires correctly. Slide comes back and locks back with the slide lock having come out of neutral position and locked the slide. Looking at diagrams, there appears to be a essentially straight spring that goes through the slide lock, internally which (I think) is designed to apply downward pressure to prevent said problem and also keeps the slide lock in the frame.

Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone experienced this?

Does it happen with on more than one shooter? I had it happen on me once w/ my 82 and determined that my thumb had pushed the slide release up on recoil.

Sure does! In fact, to get it to cycle through a mag reliably, I (or the shooter) must keep downward pressure on the slide lock to prevent it from coming up and locking slide open on each shot.

I'm betting it's part number 42.
