I was just cruising gunbroker and found a great deal on a LH CZ model 3 - i hadn't even known they made them in lefty.... this one is apparently NIB, but has a blemish on the barrel...i don't care, seeing as a Montana action runs more than what i'm paying for the rifle; and i get the stock too...so if the barrel is worthless, i'm still a happy camper.
Sooo, I have a Weaver K-4 in stock, and some Leupold Winchester M-70 bases..hopefully they'll work, i seem to recall they're for a short mag, but i have to dig them out to verify. All i need is rings.
Can anyone tell me if a K-4 will work on a Winchester m70/montana 99/CZ model 3 action with LOW rings? I think the bell is 38mm. I'd like to keep the sight-line as low as possible for a good cheek-weld.
Other scope options might be considered later; but i've got a hunt in early january that i'm hoping to take this one on, barrel permitting.
