I got a 75B Blued in 9x19 a year and a half ago for a range gun to
lower cost as I shoot .45s - 1911 and 625 The CZ 75B I cleaned up the
shipping goo from the factory off of it, lubed i and then shot every type
of 9x19 I could find - zero glitches 680 rds finally cleaned it
satisfied it's a reliable platform - and silly accurate. Great handgun

The trigger was long as usual in double action, but not too bad at all in single. I am going to shoot it a while then send it off to CZ for a trigger job. I've read alot about their trigger jobs, all good!
The bad guy target has double and triple taps. Not bad for a first range trip, it can only get better.

Get the thin aluminum grips from CZ Custom. They're expensive ($85) but worth it IMO. Made a huge difference for me when handling the gun. Feels as thin as a 1911.Butter said:

Thanks, but I don't want my gun grips to be thin. I have long hands and appreciate the bigger grips. I'm getting the wrap arounds with finger grooves from hogue.
That's good shooting and I'm sure you're going to love that 75B. I shoot almost all cast bullets in mine and I've found that this is an excellent load: 124 grain Lee round nose bullet sized to .357" over 5.2 grains of 4756 powder and a standard primer. Total cartridge length is 1.135". At 23 yards I can keep most of my shots on a Coke can and those that miss are very close.

Now it's time to get a Kadet kit.
Install a 15# hammer spring while you're at it. Really lightens up the DA trigger pull and doesn't affect primer hits.

Congrats on the new purchase. That's some impressive shooting. I love my 75BD. They are amazing guns.

My Compact is a pretty good shooter. The group below was fired before I installed the F.O. front sight and I can't get as good of a group with the fiber optics.

Interesting, I too took a new (to me) CZ-75b to the range for the first time this weekend. I am not as consistent as the OP but had plenty of dead-on shots on some very unlucky cans and water bottles.
Did have some FTE's with Federal ammo, some cases showing a lot of blow-by. Are CZ75b's finicky with ammo? Is there perhaps another issue at hand? thanks!

I will change things on it over time, but for a first time out this pistol did great!
I plan on sending it in for the comp trigger eventually and I'm getting the hogue grips.

I have a CZ SP-01 converted to .40 (basically the same thing you have). Mine is dead on reliable. I reload, and have used 170 LSWC's, 220 gn TC lead bullets, and 180 JHP's. The only change I have made to mine is a lighter recoil spring.
Ejection of the cases is how I determine the recoil spring selection. I look for the empties to be 4-6 feet away. If they drop at your feet, or only go a foot or 2, you need a lighter recoil spring for the load your using.
