• Possible Downtime Alert

I am working to migrate THR from the current cluster to a new one. I would like to get this done before the weekend, but it's unclear what the timeframe will be, as testing is still ongoing. As I am writing this the new (rebuilt) host is doing a burn-in to ensure that everything will keep running under load.

When the migration happens users will see a Cloudflare message indicatating it cannot connect to the server. This is expected, and depending on how the migration goes this may last from 30 minutes to 3 hours - I won't know more until testing the various migration options is complete and I have finalized the plan.

More information is available in this thread.

As always, thanks so much for your patience.

Cz 452 As A Biathlon Rifle

Recently my oldest son, age 20, competed in a Summer Biathlon event for the first time in his life. This is running rather than skiing, combined with shooting.

As he placed my CZ 452 Lux on the rack, I felt out of place as the CZ stood alone next to $1200.00 - $4,000.00 Anschutz and Izhmash Biathlon rifles. More than one of the Biathlon rifles had sight sets which cost more than my entire rifle; past and present members of the National Team were competing. This will be a good "learning" experience I thought.

As the final results came in, my son with a borrowed CZ 452 Lux, took second place in his age group. He "lost" to a Biathlon coach at a local Pennsylvania University.

The sponsor of the August 2007 Oil City Biathlon event was so impressed, my son was invited to attend. He will do so with the same CZ 452 Lux which is now his.

I've learned that the 452 Lux can compete against rifles costing 5 times as much, the final results depend on the person behind the rifle, and I need to stop thinking of my son as a boy.

Excellent story! Congrats to your son and to the rifle. I know how well my CZ's shoot and have no doubt that they can compete against rifles costing much, much more than they do. There is a reason I own more CZ rifles and handguns than any others and it isn't because of the looks.

Excellent! Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and I congratulate you and your boy. I'm definitely a huge fan of CZ'z and Brno's. I hope you don't mind, but posted it over on the CZ-Forum at www.RimfireCentral.com

Cheers,

TOU
