Anyone shoot CZ's? I've been lusting over an American 22 for years. I recently got my grandpa's Sako Riihimaki 222 and I'd like a modern 222 to pair with it, especially because rimfire is so hard to find. What a sweet heart of a cartridge! I see they have their 527 American in 222. The single set triggers seem great. Any thoughts? What kind of groups are you guys getting? That ol Sako has given me half inch groups which is OK, but I'd like them tighter. The fit and finish seem very fine on these guns.

You must not have spent a lot of time here, because you will get a ton of positive response on CZ's. I have a 453 Varminter that shoots .2's at 50 yards with Wolf Match Extra.

My 527 in .204 shoots 4's at 100 with my hand loads

I'm going to pick up my first CZ rifle in about an hour so I don't have firsthand experience, yet. I've heard nothing but good things. When accuracy is the topic I see a lot of suggestions to try CZ, especially when talking about rim fire the 452/453 are often mentioned.

Had the 527 in 223 and it was awesome. Best factory trigger I've ever seen.

The 455 is also a fantastic rifle. I have one in 22 mag.

Takem406, don't buy a CZ rifle unless you have room in your safe for more than one because they are like Lay's potato chips.

I have 3 452s in various configurations, all 22LR. I also have a 550 Premium in 270Win. The 550 has CZ's really nice adjustable single set trigger. They are all very well and beautifully made, exceptionally accurate and by golly great values.

This is a typical group from my Ultra Lux with good ammo. This is from a bench at 100 yards with open sights.

I concur with the others....CZs are very addictive....after trying a 452FS..22...I sold my Ruger 77/22 to buy another CZ452...heavy varmint....that brought me around to a CZ 527FS in 223...what an amazing rifle...the single set trigger will spoil you....then my wife insisted on a CZ...got her a new CZ 527 Carbine in the new 1/9 twist...it will really shoot...and she knows how

I have owned one each of the 452, 527, and 550. I would still own the 527 but it was stolen in a burglary of a motor vehicle. Seems the kid I loaned it to left it in his car and it was stolen. These are really magnificent rifles. The set trigger is ok I guess. I like the set triggers on my Winchesters better, but they are ok for what they are. Personally, I just shoot the standard, non set trigger on the CZ's.

I have no CZ long guns... but I have CZ handguns and if the quality vs. price equals what you find with their handguns, they will indeed multiply when the lights go out in the safe. My CZ pistols sure did.

I have a 527 FS in .222 Remington and it shoots as well as any other .222 I've owned. It's a pretty little gun and has been trouble free. I like the single set trigger. My only gripe was that the screws attaching the end cap piece at the muzzle would work themselves loose. I finally gave each one a drop of purple LocTite and they have stayed put ever since.

Nice gun. I HAD a 550 American in 6.5x55 that a friend talked me into selling to him a couple years ago. I replaced it with a Tikka T3 Hunter in 6.5x55. I'm still not sure if I miss the CZ or not.

I have a 455 Varminter with interchangeable barrels in 22lr, 22WMR, and 17HMR. It's a lot of fun. There are lots of aftermarket "upgrade" parts.

I have the CZ 527 .223 Rem Varmint, 1:9 twist. I love it. One day I hope to get the Carbine version with open sights.

Takem406;

If you think the crowd is enthusiastic here, go over to: Rimfire Central dot com. There are both CZ and centerfire forums there. I have five (or is it six?) now & there could be more in 2016. They are addictive, primarily because they are among the best price/quality guns on the market these days. They tend to be very nicely accurate, well made, and frequently come with oh wow wood at no extra charge.

If you buy one, well, let me know when you need another safe.

Shot with a CZ 452 Trainer at 50 feet, offhand, with Williams rear peep sight and standard CZ front sight blade.

I love CZ .22 rifles. I have three of them.

CZ makes good stuff. I've got both pistols and rifles. My latest is a 452 Ultra Lux in 22LR. Lots of fun. Their set triggers are hard to beat. You'll enjoy whatever you get.

It will be interesting to see what new products they offer in 2016.

After handling one at a LGS the other day, I know I will eventually own a CZ 527. Sweet little gun. Very hard to put down.

IMO, CZ offers some of the nicest bolt action rifles at a reasonable price. I have a .223 527 Carbine. It's a tack driver as long as I do my part. Currently I'm looking at getting a new .22LR, either a 452 Lux or a 455 Trainer. Both have iron sights and a 25" barrel.

Bluzman;

You are aware that the only real difference between the Lux & the Trainer in either the 452 or 455 line is the stock wood, correct? Lux's have walnut stocks, Trainer's wear beech furniture.

Oddly enough if you go to the Ultra Lux, the stock is beech, but the barrel goes to 28.6" long in the 452. That stock also has a cheek rest

My CZ 527 Carbine in X39 is one of the sweetest-shooting, sweetest-handling, lightest-weight rifles in my armory. Every time I pick it up I mutter some positive expletive.

You guys are killing me. Everyone who has shot one, says the exact same thing about this little rifle.

Ha. Not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you. I know what you mean, although I only had to sleep on the decision of an available rifle (to research it, really) return the next day to DROS it then wait another ten days.

Now, they're by no means perfect. It's been said that this mini-Mauser's action; rather it's 7.62 X 39 chamber, was blueprinted for the eastern-bloc steel-cased stuff. I have experienced light strikes on what seemed to be harder primers in SOME batches of brass-cased Fiocchi, not all. I now avoid brass-colored primers and look instead for nickled primer cups in this brand. Fiocchi's customer service is excellent, and if you find lot numbers that will not work, you may contact them and they'll make it right in my experience.

Once you find a particular lot of brass-cased ammunition that functions reliably in your carbine, identify all boxes and use that. I've had reliable function with all the steel-cased stuff, but in drought-plagued CA we often cannot shoot magnetic at target ranges in forested areas. Winchester white box TARGET 7.62 X 39 is good stuff. When I first started shooting the carbine 6 years ago I had over 2000 rds of some brass-cased Yugoslav Army surplus but with Berdan(?) primers (corrosive primers). I would have one or two FTFS per 100 with that stuff but it sure shot well otherwise.

Some folks have purchased and installed Wolf firing pin springs. I've just done that. I need to get CZ out again soon. It's been waiting patiently while I've doted over more-recent purchases like a .308 Ruger scout, a 1935 Remington Model 34, a Marlin 1894CS357 and a delicious Browning '92 in .44 mag. Too much fun.

Is CZ not offering as many calibers in the 550, and now going more to the push feed 557? I'd like to get a 550 in .260 Remington, but they do not offer it. They do offer the 557 in 6.5x55 Swedish, but I don't know if they offer that in the 550 anymore.

I handled one a couple years ago and thought it looked like a Euro version of a Ruger and thought I would rather have the US version. I handled the short carbine they make in 223 and 7.62X39 and that was a very nice little number. IF I needed a short bolt 223 that would be it.

Pilot;

When I looked at the CZ USA site just a day or two ago, they were showing the 550 fullstock still available in 6.5 Swede.
