CZ SP-01 refinish that some may like,....and some may not. Whatevs

1KPerDay, . . . A long time ago, . . . but in this galaxy,. . . . I was wanting a double stack 9mm pistol. I was asking [probably on this board] about the Para double stack, and too many were telling me to consider a CZ, specifically, the SP-01 [since it came with 18 round magazines to match the capacity of the Para]. I got with a guy who had one for sale, and I think was also a gunsmith as well [it's been a long time ago and I've slept a lot since then], and he said that he had an SP-01 for sale that he could convert to SAO. I took him up on it. After a bit of back and forth [initially had too much travel in the trigger], it is as you see it now [he also put the competition hammer in it as well]. The trigger has probably just over 2 pound trigger pull, and the travel is maybe about like a HIGH quality 1911, . . . . . and my gunsmith thinks it is even a bit better than a 1911. Thinks it is the best trigger he's felt [he's been a gunsmith for many years]. He says that the guy who did the trigger did a fantastic job and even wonders if there was a bit of resurfacing where the hammer connects with the sear. Very crisp and short.

He covets my gun, but I would never want to sell it.

I like the way your CZ looks. I've never had a firearm with any of the spray on finishes like cerakote, etc. The only pictures I've seen of guns with this type finish are ones with the coating freshly applied.

Wonder what the spray jobs look like after some time. Is it really anything other than high tech paint?

I like the Steam Punk look.

As for the finish, yes, it is different than paint. I'm not an expert on the topic, but apparently, it is a pretty tough finish. Not sure if it is due to the baking process or what, but it is supposed to be robust.
