CZ75D Compact

A very nice pistol.

I couldn't afford one of these, so I bought a TriStar C 100, a CZ Compact clone. Doesn't have the Decock.

I have to say, I should have picked up a CZ a couple of decades ago.

Yeah same thing with me though the original CZ 75 (my brother had an early one), was a bit of a reach for me with it's grip and trigger design. Finally found a gun shop that carried CZs and I picked up a P01 (or CZ7 5D Compact). Great ergos and fits my hand perfectly; much like my favorite 9mm., the Browning Hi-Power. They made me such a super deal on a Kadet .22 conversion kit that I picked one up too!

Very cool. After owning a full size CZ-75B and a CZ40B for about 15 years, I finally bought a PCR a couple years ago. I absolutely love this gun and CC it regularly. I should have bought one years ago.

After this picture was taken, I also removed the lanyard loop on mine and added TruGlo TFX night sights.

I recently picked up a 75D compact with a rail (essentially a P01 like bannockburn) and need to put more ammo through it.

It'll get new sights and maybe grips and I'm leaving well enough alone for once.

I'm happy with the sights right now but definitely thinking about an upgrade as far as new grips are concerned.

After thinking about it for... Oh... 20 years or so, I finally bought my first CZ.
A 99 production Israeli police issued 75D Compact.

Jim

I just picked up one of those a couple of months back; it will become my main carry gun when I get the holster I ordered from Andrews Custom Leather. Mine is one of the steel frame ones as well, though it didn't come with a lanyard ring.

Got me one right before the election.

I had been looking for one for years. I like the external safety models.

They shoot nice too.

The compact CZs are very accurate, almost as good as the full-size guns. I'm definitely not a great handgun shot compared to a lot of people (though getting a little better than I used to be now that I've been shooting handguns a little more and rifles a little less), but here's a magazine through my P-01 at 11 yards. My PCR shoots the same.

If you have one of the compacts without the rubber mag base (like shown above on a couple of the guns pictured) do yourself a favor an order one ($9). They make the gun feel much closer to a full-size 75 platform, and the pinky is much happier. :)

Also I suggest you get a CGW Ultra-Lite kit for any CZ 75/85/97 gun. :)

I think that is the FIRST CZ 75 (steel-framed) Compact I've seen with a decocker. I've had several Compacts, both blued and one in satin nickel.

I would've said "are you sure it's steel?" except that the frame is obviously the steel frame.

You can see the difference in the steel and alloy frames pretty easily. The frame of the Compact is flat with no frame line showing below.the slide stop lever, while the alloy frame seem wider above that lever (and the decocker) or narrower below. The frames for the alloy models have a very obvious difference in that area, easily seen in the photos above.

Walt, I think the key is that those were Israeli contract guns. Probably a custom combination steel frame Compact with decocker for their specific requirements.

It clearly also has a "Compact" model slide (with the nose cuts) but with the 'D' rollmark. Where all the 'D' or PCR marked slides I've seen previously are straight at the nose.

So wouldn't these be a CZ-75 CD? :D

I think I might've grabbed it too -- because it is relatively rare and unique here in the U.S. (I say that despite the fact that I'm not crazy about the steel-framed Compact and don't like decockers... But it is a unique handgun.)

Where did you find it? (If a website, it may be one I have to check periodically!)
