My condolences to you, I am sure your father knows the firearms will be put to good use and all of the memories you have together makes them priceless.
 
Though I am not an atheist, my father was known to have been the last few years before he died. When he did, just days before Christmas in 2010, the last two guns he had owned (he had sold off many others before he and I re-connected after over thirty years apart) became mine.

Though I did not know him at the time, he (like me) had done time in law enforcement, and the two guns that now hang with me were his weapons from then. One is a Ruger Service Six, circa 1975, and the other is a Charter Arms Undercover, circa 1966.

Neither is going anywhere; they are in good company now.
