Does anyone know if there was any significance to the three stars on the cocking handle of the late 50's and early 60s Daisy's like the 111 or 36? They appeared cast into the zinc in an oval.

DO they mean anything to anybody?

Yes I am playing with my "Double B" guns again. The Boy bought us a box of Little Green Army Men to shoot up for Christmas and I have to be ready to defend the honor of old farts every where against his young eyes and more modern BB gun.

I plan to embarrass his plastic plug ended trap door monstrosity with something 50 plus years old!

BWAH-HA-HA!

I don't know what the significance- if any- there is to that particular lever design, but it's about my favorite. FWIW recently I've been putting together some photos in an effort to tell when each lever design was done. Lets just say there are quite a few different Daisy levers!

Thanks for the reply and that photo is exactly what I was asking about.

I must say I like the zinc with the tree stars MUCH better than the plastic levers.

In my opinion using plastic levers is the worst thing Daisy did to the lever action BB guns... well, next to moving production to China, that is. At least they still sell cast curved levers (p/n 169862-100) for $3.00. The new levers use a replaceable nylon insert that latches the lever to the frame, so they won't wear out.
