Not the ECP, but I have the ECO and Guardian. I have a few hundred rounds throught the ECO, as I just picked that up a few months ago and thousands of rounds through the Guardian. I've never had a malfunction of any kind and both are accurate. For the money, IMO it would be hard to find a better 1911.

I've had some experience shooting Dan Wesson revolvers and 1911's most recently a 9mm Pointman which may be the best out of the box (literally) shooting semi auto I have ever shot.
The ECP Is appealing as a carry piece. Finding a review on it is harder than I thought.

I don't have a direct experience with Dan Wesson 1911. I do have a long review in an italian gun magazine of a DW commander size 1911, bobtailed with brushed stainless slide and frame and wood grips, can't remember the exact model name. I was impressed to say the least. Even by only the pics you could see the quality of the machining and the perfect slide-frame fit. I saw quality everywhere. The groups with various factory and handloaded rounds were also impressive.
The ECP the OP posted is one great looking pistol.

No ECP for me but I own the Dan Wesson Valor bobtail (VBob) and the Valkyrie CCO.

Both are fantastic 1911s, punching well above their price range in terms of quality. No MIM and we'll fitted.

Mine are both accurate and reliable. And both spend lots of time in the HD safe and/or carry holsters.

The black Duty Treat is a very tough finish, just don't use the more caustic CLP cleaners on it or you can cloud the finish and keep the rails well lubricated.

I'm asking about this particular model because of the bull barrel.

I've owned a few bull barrel 1911s and like them fine, I just find needing a special tool (or really strong fingers) to break it down annoying, but my bull barrel RIA 10mm is my most accurate 1911 despite being the least expensive one I currently own.

Edit:. But I really like the balance of the 4" barrel, both in shooting and concealing IWB. If I didn't already have a couple carry DWs I'd be looking hard at the ECP myself. Currently my "next 1911 fund" is saving for a Wilson Combat
