Well now I did it! I was in a bit of hot water with my wife over a few Colts that I picked up last weekend. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=712771

I found this today, and I wasn't willing to not buy it :)

I spelled the title to this thread incorrectly. Dan Wesson Pistol Pac.

If she is mad at you she will get over it eventually. Scoring a set like yours is on my bucket list. Congratulations!

You might want to take her out to dinner to smooth things over. ;)

My buddy has that same setup. I have been trying to get him to give it up, but have had no such luck.

Sweet! A complaint I might lodge about this product is that the fabric and padding inside the case is evidence of a corner cut by DW. It is rare to find one with the fabric intact and yours seems to be exhibiting a bit of looseness. Care for it as there are constantly fewer and fewer that have survived.

I worded it clumsily in my post to make sound more whimsical...To be clear, I DID buy it. I almost tore a hole in my wallet trying to get my credit card out.

That is absolutely, drop dead, gorgeous. I ran across one in similar condition a couple years back, only thing missing was a barrel nut for one of the barrels. I went away to think about, you know the rest of the story.

Glad you didn't go think about it, great buy, you will not be disappointed, at least not in the gun!

I am probably not going to shoot this one all that much. I have a few other Dans that are not in as nice of condition that i like to shoot.

Yes indeed you're certainly on a roll here! First the two Colts and now this pristine Dan Wesson Pistol Pac. I have to admit that if I had already bought those first two revolvers, I would be hard pressed to pass on this find, even at the risk of some domestic discomfort. Looks to be a great addition to the rest of your Dan Wesson collection. Thanks for sharing.

NICE collection. Glad the wife didn't walk in when you took that picture, we would have never seen it!

I too passed on a DW set, just like that. Just a couple years ago. The price was good too. What was wrong with my brain?????? Good going.

OH you dog you. Shamfull. I have a buch of DW revolvers but never bump into a pistol pack at a price I can justify. Now you have the best shooter you could own, colts included.

It's missing a little bit (the fabric and the target grip). The fabric might be hard to replace, but you have more than $750 worth in that picture! Go buy it!!!

Those are vented heavy barrel shrouds as well which are the most desirable

Unless the lighting in that photo is very weird, that is not the original finish. Still not a bad deal at $750

For closer to $600/$650 I would still be interested. It's a great shooter a that price. The problem with my Pistol PAC is that its too nice to shoot. Fortunately for me I have a few other DW's to shoot.

Oh, you're in for it now. It's that plush case that'll send her over the top. Could have been jewelery. None of the tough talkers on this board will be standing with you when the furies descend. Good Luck.

Sounds like you need to take wifey to Coach Factory or Neimann Marcus before you introduce her to your new friend Dan.
