All he needs to do is claim it's a 9 rnd .458" SOCOM magazine, @ which point it's perfectly legal. As are all the .458" SOCOM magazines out there.
 
It's too late for that - he already claimed it as a 30 round magazine.

He could plead insanity ? :D
 
Claims ATFE gave permission...local PD said no - who has final jurisdiction? If the PD press it, he could face charges...but won't. The Fifth Column never face charges, it just isn't done.

I can only imagine what might happen to anyone of us had we been caught waving that magazine around on national TV.

Unfortunately, he will benefit from a less stringent standard than the law-abiding folks to whom these laws apply because "It's OK. He is part of the media. They are permitted to suspend the rules to make a point." :rolleyes:

From what I understand, they called the PD to ask permission and were told NO. So he blatantly did it anyway. This was not ignorance of the law, not that ignorance is an excuse, this was a blatant violation of the law.

That's what makes me so angry about this. They talk about how we need more and more laws, yet they break those same laws when it pleases them.
 
I should call the ATF and see if they'd let me skip paying property taxes next year. Apparently they have more authority than I realized.

I would guess you are correct - something like Eric Holder's contempt of congress charge . Only the peasants are held to the standard of a law.
 
Since when can LE Agencies grant someone permission to break the law? Even if he 'asked', can someone actually permit such a thing?
Maybe he could have requested a police escort for his mag prop ~ maybe handcuffed to the Officer?
 
See above comments. If you are part of the media, or the ruling class, laws don't always apply. For us peasants yes laws always apply to the fullest.

Although there have always been rumors Obama has been packing the whole time (before and since being elected President), and considering the behavior of his peers in Chicago and across the nation regarding their personal carry weapons...
