For those who don't read the Pakistani newspaper Dawn, thought I'd share this interesting article.

For those who had problems with gun prices after a change-of-party election, imagine how an ongoing regional insurgency affects gun prices...

How do you say, "Buy it cheap and stack it deep" in whatever dialect these people speak?

Looks like the Pakistani's feel about the same as we do. Laws will not stop the buying and selling of arms no matter where you are. If you want a firearm, you get it.

    +/-$4.00 US dollars

I had the pleasure of working with the Pakistan AF for about 15 years. I also had the pleasure to see the road to Kabul many times and also the local gun manufacturing shops with the protection of the Khyber Rifles. I did buy a handmade Schrader knife look alike that I still have today.

I can remember when 50 rounds of WWB .40 caliber cost only $8.95 at Wal Mart. Yes, Dec 2008 just before the Obamanation took office. Yes he ran on a platform for Change. Yes, now I pay more taxes on that $8.95 box of ammo that the price has also "Changed" from $8.95 to $29.95.

I like THR too, but let's keep things in perspective.:p

In any case, it's a pretty cool article, particularly in terms of having a very neutral stance on guns, noting that not only criminals but also average citizens with a need for protection turn to AKs.

I also thought it was great how they gave a breakdown of the different prices for different nationalities of AKs, with German AKs being the priciest. I ran across a scattering of German AKs with the pebble-stocks in Iraq, and folks there really liked that variant too.

Hmmm - $1500 for an AK (with a happy switch)? 4 bucks for 10 rds? Now I don't feel so bad.
